Neor Lake is one of the largest freshwater lakes in Iran. It is also the largest natural lake in Ardabil province.
Nature draws a beautiful masterpiece in the city of Talesh in the province of Gilan and the cities of Ardabil and Khalkhal in the province of Ardabil with the name of Neor Lake, which is located at an altitude of 2500 meters above sea level.
This freshwater lake is embraced by one of the mountainous valleys of Baghro and shines like a jewel on the ring of nature in the area that according to some experts, is the highest glacier lake that survived from ancient times.
The lake is the starting point for one of the most beautiful hiking trails, cycling, and safari that will take you to the beautiful village of Subtan. How to go there: The lake is located 42 km southwest of Ardabil at an altitude of 2480 m above sea level. The main road for access to the lake is asphalted rural road with a length of 13 kilometers, which is 29 km from Ardabil–Khalkhal road in the village of Budalalu, at the east.
