Sheytan Kooh is a mountain in the east of Lahijan city and in Gilan province. This mountain has been known as Shahneshin in the past.
The artificial waterfall, which descends from the mountain, and the pool that you see from the green roof of Lahijan, have added to the mountain’s popularity. Lahijan Telecabin is located on the Sheytan Kooh, and you can see the green city of Lahijan from another view.
It is 60 meters high and is located along the Alborz mountain range.
According to some, the origin of the name “Sheytan Kooh” has nothing to do with superstition, as well as the devil is common among the public. The story of this name is as follows: The nature of this mountain is such that when you look down from above, you will feel that you can easily reach the slope by running, but the result will be nothing but a fall and in the belief of the old locals. Here the devil blinds one’s eyes or somehow deceives him.
