Located in the city of Paris, the Louvre museum is one of the most prestigious museums in the world, containing more than 35,000 objects. The “Iranian Hall” is the site of Iran’s antiquities at the Louvre Museum, where valuable artistic masterpieces can be seen from Iran.
Perhaps the first thing to surprise you after visiting this hall is the high number of works. This Museum houses about 2500 of Iran’s national monuments. In this lounge, you can see the huge and small objects and enjoy rich Iranian art and culture.
The Department of Islamic Art exhibits various works from the Islamic era of different countries in 10 halls. This section showcases more than 5,000 works of art and antiquity in which the works of Islamic art of Iran play an important role, as more than half of the works are devoted to Iran.
It is interesting to know that most of the Iranian works were removed from the country at the time of Nasser al-Din Shah and Muzaffar al-Din Shah during qajar era. let’s review some of the Persian artifacts now in the Louvre museum together:
