Varzaneh Desert

Varzaneh Desert is of the most famous deserts of Isfahan province. If you want to immerse yourself in endless tranquility and silence, the desert of Varzaneh would be a worthwhile choice. The best time to go is in spring and autumn because of the hot summers and cold winters. This is another desert of Iran deserts which attracts many tourists every year due to the great recreational facilities it offers.

This Desert, located 105 kilometers from Isfahan city and 10 kilometers from Varzaneh city, has an area of ​​about 17,000 hectares. On the moving sand of the desert, you can take your shoes off and walk barefoot for a while, surely touching the sand is a memorable experience in the desert. If you go to the eastern hills you will see a beautiful view of Gavkhuni Lagoon. One of the most memorable adventures of this desert is when you head to the summit of the Black Mountain where you can watch the lagoon and its surroundings from above.

Perhaps none of Iran’s deserts has the same variety of recreational facilities as the Varzaneh desert has. You will experience all sorts of terrestrial and aerial recreation in the desert of Varzaneh. Some special species of plants are able to grow there including soap root, salsola, reed, and different species of tamarisk. Among the birds, are species of blackcock and bittern, as well as storks, herons, gulls, flamingos, and ducks that cover the wetland’s periphery. Sand therapy, walking on the sand dunes, cycling, riding an all-terrain vehicle (ATVs), off-roading, skiing on the sand, and camel trekking are the tourism capacities of the desert.
