Ashuradeh is the only island on the Iranian coast of the Caspian Sea. Its surface is 800 hectares. It is located on the eastern end of the Miankaleh peninsula in the county of Behshahr of Mazandaran Province of Iran, 3 kilometers far from Bandar Torkaman and 23 kilometers far from Gorgan.
Around 40% of Iranian caviar is caught near the island. The island has historically a significant role in the history of Iran and the region at different times.
In this area you can see rare bird species, beautiful landscapes of Turkmenistan, and spectacular plants include raspberries and sour pomegranate trees.

How to go there: you have to go around 387 kilometers far from Tehran to Turkmen port. Take the route from Firuzkouh to Qa’em Shahr, Sari, and then to Behshahr, and then you will be taken to the Gelogah and Kurdoku, and then you will be taken to the Turkmen port.
