Rig-e Jenn ,The Bermuda Triangle of Iran

Rig-e Jenn is a vast area of sand dunes in the middle of Dasht-e Kavir, Iran’s central desert in the border region of the Semnan and Isfahan provinces of Iran.

This place is the most amazing, mysterious, and scary area in Iran, with its marvelous bog that brings death to every living creature. Many unanswered and unexplained events occurred in the area, and the salty soils of the area have been the place of many murders and deaths.

The area is also believed by the indigenous peoples of the desert, as the cursed land. They believe that evil spirits rule in the mysterious land, and so anyone who steps into the Rig-e-Jen never returns. 

The climate of the main part of this region where evaporation rates are higher than atmospheric pollutants is dry and desert.

How go there: The best way to reach the area is Malekabad road that is located in the northeastern part of the Desert National Park. The best vehicle to cross the desert is also a lightweight jeep. Of course, do not forget that it’s possible to get stuck and get lost in the Rig Gen Desert at any moment, so travel to this desert with a professional guide.
