Essential Ski Equipment
To enjoy a safe and comfortable skiing experience, proper equipment is essential. Most major ski resorts in Iran offer rental services, but experienced skiers often prefer to use their own gear. We recommend wearing waterproof clothing, insulated gloves, ski goggles, a certified helmet, and suitable thermal layers. Sunscreen is also important, as UV exposure is stronger at higher altitudes.

Located in the heart of the Alborz Mountains, approximately 70 km north of Tehran, Dizin Ski Resort is Iran’s largest and most famous ski destination. Since its opening in the 1960s, Dizin has become the country’s leading winter sports resort, attracting both local and international skiers with its excellent snow conditions and modern facilities.
Thanks to its high elevation, the ski season typically extends from December to May, making Dizin one of the longest-operating ski resorts in the Middle East. The highest ski lift reaches 3,600 meters above sea level, offering spectacular alpine scenery and reliable snow throughout the season.

The Closest Ski Resort to Tehran

🎿 Shemshak Ski Resort
Iran’s Classic Ski Resort for Advanced Skiers
Located 57 km northeast of Tehran, Shemshak Ski Resort is one of Iran’s oldest and most prestigious winter sports destinations. Established in 1958, the resort has long been a favorite among experienced skiers thanks to its steeper slopes, exciting terrain, and reliable snow conditions. Following major improvements to its pistes and facilities, Shemshak gained international recognition and has hosted numerous national and international skiing events. The resort sits at an elevation ranging from 2,550 to 3,050 meters above sea level, offering excellent skiing conditions from late November to early April, depending on snowfall.
